Industry–Academia Collaboration Innovation Pitch by the Nishi-Tokyo Three Universities

KizunaBridge delivered a pitch at the “Industry–Academia Collaboration Innovation Pitch by the Nishi-Tokyo Three Universities,” organizing the challenges we face and the joint validation themes we aim to pursue, in order to further evolve our learning app “KizunaCare,” which supports the training and retention of foreign caregiving personnel, into a solution that produces stronger on-site outcomes.

While more care facilities in Japan are accepting foreign caregivers, these workers are often required to tackle multiple learning demands at the same time—Japanese communication, practical on-the-job conversation expressions, and study for qualification exams. As a result, learning content and teaching approaches can differ by facility and by instructor, and there is a growing challenge that learning and training processes are not systematically organized.

KizunaCare aims to support these learning needs as one continuous learning flow. However, to increase learning effectiveness and connect sustained learning to successful workplace integration and retention, it is necessary to validate what types of learning experiences actually lead to measurable results and to improve the product accordingly.

Through this initiative, we plan to advance the validation and systematization of more effective learning design, with a view to collaborating with the University of Electro-Communications, which conducts research in learning management and instructional design, and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, which has expertise in Japanese language education and second language acquisition.

KizunaBridge will conduct both quantitative and qualitative verification and will continue improving the product to contribute to faster on-the-job readiness and long-term retention of foreign caregiving personnel—by reducing the burden on training staff, improving the quality of workplace communication, increasing learning continuity, and enhancing the efficiency of exam preparation.

If your care facility or registered support organization is interested in joint validation or on-site pilots, please feel free to contact us.
